Lauren Murphy- a woman with brown hair, wearing glasses and a beige turtleneck sweater, sitting on a sofa with a thoughtful expression, resting her chin on her hand.

With over 15 years of experience in the design industry, Lauren brings a unique, dual-perspective approach to every home she enters. Her foundation was built within her family’s award-winning design firm, Murphy’s Design, a Northern Virginia staple that has been recognized as a "Best of Northern Virginia" Home Expert since 2019 and a "Best of Houzz" recipient since 2013. As a Selection Specialist and Interior Stylist, Lauren learned early on how to blend the structural potential of a home with the personal tastes of the people who live there.

After studying at The Art Institute of Washington and becoming a Certified Professional Home Stager, Lauren further honed her distinctive eye styling interiors for the camera. Apprenticing under celebrated Home & Design Magazine photographer Bob Narod, she mastered the art of visual composition, learning how to arrange rooms to look as sophisticated in person as they do in high-end publications.

Today, Lauren has relocated to Lynchburg, Virginia, where she now specializes in the "Art of the Edit"—the delicate balance of refining a space while honoring your history. Lauren bridges the gap between sentimental styling and strategic real estate staging. Her background in the remodeling industry gives her a practical, expert understanding of a home’s potential, while her passion for personal artifacts ensures that every space she touches feels soulful and intentional. Whether you are "shopping your home" to highlight your most cherished heirlooms or softening your space for a successful sale, Lauren’s respectful, narrative-driven approach ensures your story or your homes is told with clarity and sophistication.
